About the Donations Program

Idayimani Montessori Academy is a community-rooted school based in Langa, Cape Town. With the generous support of donors, we have been able to establish and grow a fully operational Montessori Academy that now serves over 120 children.

In addition, donor support has contributed to transformative projects such as the “Learn to Swim” initiative and other life-changing opportunities for our children and families.

We are deeply grateful to every individual and partner who has made this possible. Your contributions directly impact the daily lives of our children and their future. No donation is too small — every amount helps us continue to build and sustain meaningful opportunities in our community.

WHERE DO DONATIONS GO?

Donations are used to support the continued growth and sustainability of Idayimani Montessori Academy, including:

• Classroom equipment and furniture

• Montessori learning materials

• Daily running costs of the school

• Teacher development and training

• The “Learn to Swim” pool project

Built by Love to Langa

All teachers have been trained through a Montessori Teacher Program that we sponsored for women who reside in Langa.

Montessori inspires confidence and nurtures the child’s innate desire for learning, discovery, and social interaction skills in an environment where teachers are encouraging, engaging and valuing the individual child. Children are taught how to learn, preparing each child for future academic and social excellence. The Montessori approach is an integrated one: practical life and sensory activities form the foundation for learning language and mathematics with culture forming a golden thread that runs through all learning experiences.
